Artist's Comments

8/10

First off, I would like to extend my thanks to *jademacalla. A man who not only inspired me to do this series, but also was gracious enough to be a wonderful model.

This is a series that I have been wanting to do for the past few months now and I have finally been able to devote some time to complete the project. I am extremly happy with how the photo shoot went, how the images turned out, and the overall development process of this shoot. In the future I hope to do a little more with this concept to further develop it and hope that you the veiwer enjoy the images.

This series is an artistic venture that shares some slight social commentary on how innocence is lost as we grow older and have to come to terms with certain realities in life. Even a child's former plaything must grow and mature to find a place for itself within the world now that it's glory days are over. Even though it begins to lose itself in the obscurity of the daily grind, that toy prevents itself from fading away into truly noting. There are originally 10 final images for this series, but I am only submitting the four strongest images, so if the number above seems to skip an order that is why.

This turned out really great. I dig them all, but this one is super.

I think what really draws me in, visually that is because the concept already rocks the radishes, is the contrast between the red and the black and white. =3 And because I think my Art teacher would be proud - Nice way to point out the FOCAL POINT with the red color, it creates emphasis on the person on the swing.

:XD: Yeah I have an art teacher that would be proud as well for beating the viewer over the head with the FP. :)

This is a great concept, I find it really interesting, very powerful social commentary indeed. Are there any more images of that set?

Nevermind, the rest of the set is obviously in your gallery, duh! (sorry, disregard the comment, I was actually expecting more B&W stuff and I didn't pay enough attention to the other images).

Haha, why thank you I really appreciate the feedback. I had considered putting the other images in B&W but I liked them in color...I might link to B&W versions though.
